Equestrian Style - Our Stay at The Campbell House

On our way back from Nashville, TN we stayed two nights in Lexington, KY at the recently renovated The Campbell House.  Deep blue-gray paneled walls were the backdrop for a modern take on equestrian style.  Loved how they mixed in lighter woods and finishes for contrast.

The upper inset in the paneling was a fine grasscloth or linen paper - not sure which.  All the sconces throughout the hotel had equestrian inspired detailing as well.  Very hard to see in the pic below - but the hallway walls were covered in a faux leather with stitch detailing.

Side-by-side coffee tables and pillow detailing

Finally, a thoroughbred statue at the winner's entrance circle.

"Few Flowers" Arrangement

What do you do when you only have a few blooms but you want a nice arrangement? Bunch them together, secure them and place them at an angle in a small, interesting vase.  This is also a great idea when half of a larger arrangement has died off but there's still some good ones left.  These are from the Waterworks in Georgetown the night of their kitchen line reveal.
