
A visit to Katy Elliot's fabulous
blog led me to the recent NY Time's piece on architect Gil Schafer's looks-old-but-it's-new Greek Revival. The house is gorgeous, with many lovely rooms, but I was drawn to these cognac colored walls. (click

It's not a color I would contemplate for my own house - but I think here, in this room, the color is perfection.
Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek - in their promo they refer to these walls as cognac. Does put one in the mood for some Courvoisier.

A modern take on this color, expecially the section of the wall to the right of the bookshelves. A very warm and dreamy color.
